Creative and academic mentoring sessions and surgeries - finding your way

With 25 years’ experience working alongside artists, designers, photographers and academics across disciplines in creative, health and science environments linked to higher and further education, I have a solid understanding of inclusion and the ups and downs of creative and academic practice, and supporting people to find their way.

I have delivered extensive numbers of one-to-one tutorials, portfolio and academic writing/curatorial/CV writing reviews either within higher education or privately and have mentored individuals for the last 20 years focussed to continuing personal and professional/creative development, those who are developing their teaching practice in further and higher education and in the pursuit of fellowship of Advance HE.

As a highly experienced art, history of art and design lecturer and academic developer I have a finely tuned eye for how creative practice can be built on, refined and contextualised in the art world from a practice base and art writing perspective.

One of my strongest skills is in personal and creative development, helping creatives and academics find new directions and redefine the possibilities for their practice-based activity and in their role contexts.

I also have expertise in supporting creatives develop written content to describe and enhance the concepts, theoretical elements of their practice as aspects of curation and display, CV re-development, or for web pages and blogs.

I regularly give surgeries with students, graduates, creatives and academics who wish to re-establish their practice after a break, raising a family or dedicating time to a full time career.

If you are at the point where you would like to collaborate together with an experienced eye and thinker who can also help you express or re-position your ideas, re-ignite and explore the potential of your practice or writing then please do get in touch.
